Mendelson, host of Best Buys TV, as well as former television news reporter in Southern California on KCAL 9 for fifteen years. Alan’s career in television news has spanned more than forty years, but nothing prepared him for what he was told by a doctor in 1978, being diagnosed with diabetes, becoming an insulin dependent diabetic. Thirty years later, Alan was presented with another set of challenges: kidney and pancreatic failure and the search to find a donor.
